MANILA, Philippines – Umaasa ang Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) na mabibigyan nito ng akreditasyon ang 10 vape firms bago ang pagtatapos ng taon.
“Hopefully, by the end of the year, we’ll have nine to 10 companies that have already registered and complied with the DTI,” sinabi ni Trade Secretary Cristina Roque.
“The only thing we want from them is for them to comply and to register with us just to make sure that the standards are being met for these vape products,” dagdag pa niya.
Ngayong buwan, inilabas ng DTI ang pangalan ng 10 vape brands na pinapayagang magbenta ng kanilang mga produkto sa merkado.
Ang regulasyon ng mga produktong ito ay nasa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 1190 o Vape Act, na isinabatas noong Hulyo 2022, habang ang implementing rules and regulations (IRR) ay inilabas Disyembre ng kaparehong taon.
Kamakailan ay sinabi ni DTI Consumer Policy and Advocacy Bureau Assistant Director Perpetua Werlina Lim na nirerebisa nila ang technical regulations para sa vape products.
Aniya, ang mga pagbabago ay inaasahan sa auditing process para sa mga kompanya na nagbebenta ng mga produktong ito. RNT/JGC
