MANILA, Philippines – Nanumpa na bilang bagong mga pulis ang 102 dating miyembro ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) at Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
Sila ay magsisilbi bilang miyembro ng Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR).
Kasabay ng oath-taking rites sa PRO-BAR headquarters sa Parang, Maguindanal del Norte, inilarawan ni Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benhur Abalos ang event bilang “making history” at tinawag ang mga bagong pulis na “crème de la crème (best of the best)” mula sa 11,000 aplikante mula sa dalawang grupo.
“Undeniably you will be facing challenges, hardships, and struggles. Sa mga susunod na araw marami pang hamon sa buhay. At the end of this road, be reminded of the success of overcoming the strenuous training in molding you to become a better version of yourself, in discovering your potential to make a difference,” ani Abalos.
“Today you will be clothed with the uniform of the PNP and may this remind you of your mission to guard the vulnerable. Be the champion of truth and be the example of bravery and responsibility,” dagdag pa niya sa kanyang mensahe sa newly inducted PNP patrolmen at patrolwomen.
Ang pagpasok sa dalawang grupo ay bahagi ng
Republic Act 11054 o Organic Law for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao matapos na pumirma ng kasunduan sa Bangsamoro people.
“The whole government led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., including the DILG, PNP (Philippine National Police), and the National Police Commission, are here to support the Bangsamoro to ensure that the implementation of the Bangsamoro Organic Act will be successful. We have already taken steps towards attaining lasting peace in the region. Sama-sama tayo sa pagkakaisa natin dito sa Mindanao,” sinabi ng Interior Secretary.
Ibinahagi rin ni Abalos ang plano ng pagsisimula ng bagong selection process para sa bagong batch ng patrolmen at patrolwomen mula sa MILF at MNLF upang maabot ang target na 400 recruits bago matapos ang taon.
Sinabi ni PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo ang sasailalim sa isang taong basic recruitment basic course at six-month field training program ang mga bagong pulis.
Sa oras na matapos dito, sila ay bibigyan ng temporary appointment status at maitatalaga sa PRO-BAR.
“Kung matatandaan niyo 400 supposedly yung slot natin para sa kanila subalit hindi nafill up ito kaya yung ibang mga applikante particularly those na may mga compliance sa mga medical requirements ay susunod sila na ipaprocess at ioopen ulit natin yung recruiment process para naman makumpleto natin yung remaining slots na dedicated sa members ng MNLF at MILF,” ani Fajardo sa press briefing nitong Huwebes.
Dahil hindi pa napupunan ang 400 slots na inilaan para sa PRO-BAR, sinabi ni Fajardo na ang regional office ay kikilos pa rin para makumpeto ang quota sa future recruitment process.
Iginiit ni Fajardo na wala siyang nakikitang banta sa pagsali sa MILF at MNLF members sa police force.
“The intention really is for them to serve the BARMM in order for them to be empowered which means that the cooperation and genuine concern for all the people of the BARMM will come from them,” ani Fajardo.
Noong Mayo 2022, nasa 7,000 ng 11,000 MNLF at MILF members ang nakapasa sa special qualifying eligibility examination upang sumali sa PNP.
Sinabi rin niya na nagsimula na silang magproseso ng 1,000 passers na inendorso ng Bangsamoro government, 700 ang mula sa MILF at 300 ang mula sa MNLF.
Dapat ipasa ng mga aplikante ang body mass index test, physical agility test, psychological examination at physical at dental examination.
Nauna nang sinabi ng National Police Commission na ang age requirement para sa MILF at MNLF applicants ay hindi bababa sa 20 taong gulang at hindi lalampas sa 35 taong gulang.
Isa sa mahalagang requirements para sa mga aplikante na makakuha ng special qualifying exams ay sertipikasyon mula sa MILF at MNLF na sila ay bonafide members ng organisasyon. RNT/JGC
