MANILA, Philippines- Tumaas ang ranggo ng 11 police colonels sa brigadier generals, ayon sa Philippine National Police (PNP) nitong Linggo.
Kabilang sa mga na-promote sa one-star rank sina Colonels Christopher Abrahano at Jericho Baldeo mula sa Office of the Chief PNP; Manuel Abrugena mula sa Special Action Force; Nestor Babagay Jr. mula sa Office of the Directorate of Intelligence; Jovencio Badua Jr. mula sa Police Regional Office (PRO) 1 (Ilocos); Dionisio Bartlome Jr., chief ng Drug Enforcement Group; Aligre Martinez mula sa PRO 4A (Calabarzon); Eleazar Matta mula PRO 13 (Caraga), Noel Sandoval mula Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management; Rogelio Simon mula sa Police Security Protection Group; at Noel Vallo mula sa Directorate for Logisitics.
Epektibo ang kanilang promosyon nitong Pebrero 6, batay sa dokumentong may petsang Feb. 9.
Noong Enero, tiniyak ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) na hindi maaantala ang pagproseso ng promosyon ng third-level police officers.
Nauna nang ipinasa ng National Police Commission (Napolcom) ang resolusyong nag-uutos ng pagkumpleto sa pagproseso sa promosyon para sa third-level police officers sa loob ng 30 araw matapos matanggap ang kumpletong documentary requirements.
Sinabi rin ni DILG Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr., chair ng Napolcom, na ang promosyon “would further improve the morale of the personnel and inspire them to work relentlessly in fighting criminality, illegal drugs, corruption, and in maintaining peace and order in their assigned jurisdictions.” RNT/SA
