MANILA, Philippines – Binigyan ng perang ayuda at pinagdalo sa skills training at basic education ang nasa 12,000 decommissioned combatants ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
Ito ang pahayag ni Special Assistant to the President Secretary Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr. nitong Sabado, Agosto 5, kung saan 5,499 ang nakatanggap ng cash assistance habang 3,000 ang nakakumpleto na sa kanilang skills training sa Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, at 3,658 ang nakatapos ng basic education sa pamamagitan ng Alternative Learning System.
Sinabi pa ng opisyal na naiproseso na rin ang aabot sa 35,000 birth certificate applications
sa ilalim ng Normalization Program.
Kinumpirma naman ni Lagdameo na maliban sa pagpapatuloy ng MILF Decommissioning Phase 3, itinuloy na rin ang iba pang aspeto ngNormalization Program ng pamahalaan sa ilalim ng Bangsamoro peace agreement.
“The completion of the third phase signifies the strong partnership of the government and the MILF to pursue a singular mission of transforming the Bangsamoro, reflective of the President’s vision to build a Bangsamoro that is self-governing, progressive, and effective,” aniya.
Iginiit ni Lagdameo na ang decommissioning program ay mahalagang hakbang tungo sa transition ng mga dating combatants pabalik sa lipunan bilang isang “productive and peaceful citizens.”
Ani Lagdameo, nakatakdang magpulong ang mga miyembro ng Inter-Cabinet Cluster Mechanism on Normalization sa Agosto 10 upang pag-usapan at i-follow up ang iba pang commitments na ginawa sa naturang inisyatibo.
Samantala, sinabi naman ng opisyal ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) na determinado si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na maabot ang target sa ilalim ng Bangsamoro peace agreement.
“I equivocally say that he will not waver in his commitment to implement the peace agreement, the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro, which was started by his father before under the Tripoli Agreement,” pahayag ni OPAPRU Director Wendell Orbeso.
Mula nang magsimula ang programa noong Nobyembre 2021 ay aabot na sa 26,145 combatants ang na-decommission.
Layon na ang pangkalahatang decommissioning efforts bago mag-2025.
Ang decommissioning program ay bahagi ng Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB), na pinirmahan noong 2014 sa pagitan ng pamahalaan at MILF. RNT/JGC
