MANILA, Philippines- Iniutos ng House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability Chairman at Manila Rep. Joel Chua sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) na beripikahin sa kanilang rekord ang 1,992 indibidwal na naging benepisyaryo ng P500 milyong confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) sa ilalim ni Vice President Sara Duterte.
“May we request for the verification of the Civil Registry Documents (birth, marriage, and death) of the names in the attached list relative to the investigation being conducted by the Committee,” nakasaad sa liham ni Chua kay National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Claire Dennis Mapa.
Matatandaang 667 pangalan din ang unang ipinaberipika ng komite sa PSA na pawang benepisyaryo naman ng confidential fund mula sa Department of Education (DepEd).
Sa 667 pangalan na pinasuri sa PSA, lumitaw na 405 ang walang birth records, 445 ang walang marriage certificates at 508 ang walang death certificates.
“A certification that these names are not in the PSA database would bolster suspicions that they do not exist and that the ARs were fabricated to justify confidential fund expenditures by the OVP and DepEd under Vice President Duterte,”ayon kay Chua.
Gaya ng mga nadiskubreng kontrobersyal na pangalan sa OVP gaya ng pangalang Mary Grace Piattos ay mayroon ding kakaibang mga pangalan na naisumite ang DepEd sa Commission on Audit (COA) na pinaggamitan ng confidential funds. Gail Mendoza
