MANILA, Philippiens – Isinusulong sa Senado ang panukala na magbibigay ng 20% load at internet discount sa mga estudyante kasabay ng paulit-ulit na paglipat sa online class dahil sa masamang panahon.
Ipinanukala ni Senador Erwin Tulfo, chairman ng Senate Committee on Social Justice, Welfare and Rural Development, ang Senate Bill No. 2275, o the “Student Load Discount Act”.
Layon ng panukala na pahupain ang financial burden ng mga estudyante at makasabay sa alternative mode of learning.
“We have to slash this added expense from students, which too often prevents our students from keeping up with their online classes. This is our way to somehow level the playing field,” ani Tulfo.
“We cannot expect students, especially those who come from indigent families, to seamlessly transition into digital learning without the government lending them a helping hand,” dagdag pa niya.
Layon ng panukala na magbigay ng discount sa lahat ng Filipino na naka-enroll sa authorized elementary, secondary, technical-vocational, o higher education institutions, hindi kasama ang post-graduate studies.
Inaasahang magiging available buong taon ang 20-percent discount kabilang ang weekends at holiday.
Para makapag-avail ng discount ay kailangan lamang na magpresenta ng valid school ID o patunay ng enrollment kasama ang birth certificate para maberipika ang kanilang nasyonalidad.
Ani Tulfo, sa implementasyon ng panukala ay legal na oobligahin ang telecommunication companies na magbigay ng discount sa lahat ng serbisyo at ang hindi susunod ay haharap sa mahigpit na multa. RNT/JGC
