MANILA, Philippines – Isinuko ni dating Senador Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. ang 21 baril sa mga awtoridad nang siya ay sumuko sa Philippine National Police (PNP), ayon kay Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla nitong Martes.
Sumuko si Revilla sa PNP at dumaan sa booking procedures noong Lunes ng gabi, matapos maglabas ng warrant of arrest ang Sandiganbayan Third Division kaugnay ng P92.8-milyong umano’y ghost project sa Bulacan.
“After all those procedures, we attended to all his firearms licenses. We had him surrender his long firearms here in Camp Crame,” pahayag ni Remulla sa isang press briefing.
Kalaunan, sinabi ng kalihim na isinuko ni Revilla ang pitong long firearms at 14 short firearms.
“Revilla is no longer entitled to own and operate the firearms… If he had not surrendered them, he would have been in danger of raids against loose firearms,” paliwanag ni Remulla.
“Deregistration is personal. He wouldn’t have been able to do it by himself. So, it’s better that he surrendered his firearms,” dagdag pa niya.
Kasama rin sa warrant ng Sandiganbayan ang pag-aresto sa anim na opisyal ng Bulacan 1st District Engineering Office.
Ayon kay Remulla, lima sa kanila ang nasa kustodiya na ng PNP at National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). RNT/MND
