MANILA, Philippines – Idinaos ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos ang ikatlong joint patrol sa West Philippine Sea nitong Biyernes ng hapon, Pebrero 9, ayon sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Kasama sa joint maritime cooperative activity ang BRP Gregorio Del Pilar at AW109 Helicopter ng Philippine Navy, at ang USS Gabrielle Giffords at MH-60S SeaHawk helicopter ng United States Indo-Pacific Command.
Naglayag ang dalawang barko at lumahok sa advanced planning and maritime communication operations sa western section ng exclusive economic zone.
“The MCA has become a routine activity for both Filipino and U.S. militaries to continuously enhance interoperability through the conduct of maritime security and maritime domain awareness operations,” saad sa pahayag ng AFP.
Isinagawa ang ikalawang MCA ng Manila at Washington noong nakaraang buwan, habang ang kauna-unahang joint patrol ay noong Nobyembre 2023.
Binuo ang mga patrol na ito kasabay ng tensyon sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at China sa West Philippine Sea. RNT/JGC
