MANILA, Philippines – Nagpadala ng tulong ang apat na bansa ng Southeast Asia, o ang Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, at Indonesia para sa nagpapatuloy na recovery efforts matapos ang pananalasa ng Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
Sa Saturday News Forum sa Quezon City, sinabi ni Office of Civil Defense (OCD) administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno na magpapadala ng air assets ang Singapore para umasiste sa paghahatid ng relief sa mga apektadong rehiyon.
“Although, again, hindi natin pro-problemahin iyong family food packs, hygiene kits subalit iyong pagtulong sa atin ng mga ibang bansa namely – automatic iyong tulong ng Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia – pormal na iyan. Nagpadala rin sila ng air assets (Although, again, we don’t have a problem with the relief items, but other countries are helping us namely – it’s automatic for Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia to help – that’s formal. They’ve also sent their air assets,” aniya.
Hindi na nagbanggit pa ng ibang detalye si Nepomuceno kaugnay sa tulong ngunit sinabi na ang anumang karagdagang tulong ay “a sign of solidarity with our partners.”
Sa pahayag din nitong Sabado, kinumpirma ng Singaporean Ministry of Defense na magdedeploy ang Singaporean Armed Forces (SAF) ng isang Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) C-130 transport aircraft para tumulong sa humanitarian efforts sa bansa.
“The SAF’s contributions underscore the warm and friendly bilateral and defense ties and close Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) cooperation between Singapore and the Philippines.” RNT/JGC
