MANILA, Philippines – ISA LAMANG propaganda ang four-day unilateral ceasefire na idineklara ng Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).
“The CPP statement should be taken as it is —a sad propaganda stunt of a terrorist organization,” ang sinabi ng DND sa isang kalatas, binigyang diin na ang hakbang ay hindi tutugunan ng gobyerno.
“Military duties are not subject to pause or seasons, thus the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) shall continue to support the Philippine National Police in keeping peace and order this holiday season,” ayon pa rin sa DND.
Sa hiwalay na kalatas, nangako naman ang AFP na magpapatuloy ang operasyon nito sa kabila ng pahayag ng CPP.
“Military responsibilities are continuous and are not subject to unilateral pronouncements by armed groups. In close coordination with other law enforcement agencies, the AFP will continue lawful security operations to ensure peace and order and prevent armed groups from exploiting the situation to regroup, rearm, or threaten public safety,” ayon sa AFP.
Muli namang inulit ng DND ang panawagan nito para sa natitirang miyembro ng New People’s Army (NPA), ang armed wing ng CPP, na iwasan ang karahasan at humanap ng paraan para isulong ang pangmatagalang kapayapaan at pag-unlad.
“We urge the remaining members of the armed groups to abandon violence, lay down their arms, and return to the fold of the law in the interest of lasting peace and development,” ang sinabi ng DND.
Kapuwa nagpalabas ng kalatas ang DND at AFP matapos na ipag-utos ng CPP sa NPA na magpatupad ng four-day ceasefire bilang pagdiriwang ng ika-57 taong anibersaryo nito at holidays.
Ang tigil-putukan ay magiging epektibo sa Disyembre 25 at 26, 2025 at sa Disyembre 31, 2025 hanggang Enero 1, 2026.
