MANILA, Philippines- Iniulat ngPhilippine National Police-Anti Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) kasama ang apat na puganteng Chinese sa mga indibidwal na naaresto nitong nakaraang linggo sa Las Piñas.
Kinumpirma ni PNP-ACG spokesperson Capt. Michelle Sabino ang pag-aresto, subalit hindi nagbigay ng detalye.
Kasalukuyang pinoproseso ng PNP ang paghahain ng kaso laban sa daang foreign workers at local contacts na nadamba sa operasyon sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) center sa Las Piñas.
Iniulat din ng PNP na napigilan nitong makatakas ang ilang dayuhan.
Samantala, kinondena ng abogado ng isa sa mga nahuling indibidwal ang umano’y pagmaltrato ng ilang pulis sa ilang dayuhan sa raid.
Umapela si Atty. Ananias Vargas, abogado para sa Xinchuang Technologies Inc.,ng humanitarian assistance para sa POGO workers na umano’y nagtamo ng sugat sa pagsalakay.
“We seriously condemn this exhibition of police brutality against these unarmed foreign nationals, and declare that the use of force is not commensurate with the necessity to prevent escape, as you claim in your press statement. We also condemn your police officers on the ground’s continued refusal to allow the entry of an ambulance to transport these seriously injured and wounded to the nearest treatment facility,” saad sa liham ni Vargas.
Itinanggi naman ni PNP Public Information Officer chief BGen Redrico Maranan na naging marahas ang mga pulis sa pagtugon sa tangkang pagtakas.
“The PNP remains committed to upholding the human rights for all, regardless of race or nationality. Our men are professionals and will only act in accordance to the relevant laws of the land,” giit ni Maranan.
Aniya pa, nagtalaga sila ng PNP Human Rights assistance desks at health stations sa lugar. RNT/SA
