MANILA, Philippines- Naaresto ng Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group ang limang suspek sa unauthorized mineral extraction activities sa Negros Oriental nitong Biyernes.
Base sa CIDG, nadakip ang mga suspek na sina Segundino, Elizar, Armando, Romel, at Reymart Segundino sa joint OPLAN KALIKASAN operation sa Barangay Isugan, Bacong, Negros Oriental.
Nahuli umano ang mga ito na nagsasagawa ng unauthorized exploration, extraction, at disposition ng mineral resources at walang kaukulang mining rights, permits, o agreements mula sa Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) at iba pang mga kinauukulan.
Nasabat ang tatlong dump trucks na may one cubic meter ng sand minerals, three cubic meters ng boulder minerals, at mining equipment na nagkakahalaga ng P1.3 milyon sa operasyon.
“We urge the public to remain vigilant and report all violations and illegal activities concerning our environment, such as illegal mining, illegal quarrying, illegal logging, and related crimes. Rest assured that your CIDG will take swift action,” giit ni CIDG Director Police Major General Nicolas Torre III. RNT/SA
