MANILA, Philippines – Kasunod ng naging findings ng Philippine Statistics Authority(PSA) na walang pangalan ang “Mary Grace Piattos” sa kanilang data base, nasa 677 pang pangalan ang iniutos ng House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability na tignan sa rekord.
Ang 677 na pangalanbay ang mga nakalista na beneficiaries ng confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at Department of Education (DepEd) sa ilalim ni Vice
President Sara Duterte.
Ang kautusan sa PSA ay ipinadala ni House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability Chairman Manila Rep. Joel Chua kay National Statistician Claire Dennis Mapa.
“May we request for the verification of the Civil Registry Documents (birth, marriage, and death) of the names in the attached list relative to the investigation being conducted by the Committee,” nakasaad sa liham ni Chua.
“This is deeply troubling. If the name Mary Grace Piattos doesn’t exist in official records, we have to question whether the other 677 names are legitimate or if they are part of a wider scheme to misuse funds,” pahayag ni Chua.
Nais ng komite na matukoy kung lehitimo ang mga pangalan na nakinabang sa pondo ng gobyerno o mga peke lamang at ginawa para pagtakpan ang ginawang maling paggasta ng pondo.
“Ensuring the authenticity of these recipients is crucial for maintaining transparency and accountability in the use of public funds. We are committed to uncovering the truth behind these transactions,” ani Chua.
Inaasahan naman ng komite na maisusumite ng PSA ang kanilang beripikasyon sa susunud na pagdinig. Gail Mendoza
