8 senatorial bets, 19 party-lists naghain na ng SOCE – Comelec

MANILA, Philippines – Apat na araw bago ang deadline ng filing, nagpasa na ang walong senatorial candidates at 19 party-lists sa 2025 midterm elections ng kanilang statements of contribution and expenditure (SOCEs), ayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Sinabi ni Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia na ang mga kandidato at party-lists na naghain ng kani-kanilang SOCEs hanggang nitong Sabado, Hunyo 7, 4:30 p.m. ay ang mga sumusunod:

Nauna nang nagbabala ang Comelec na ikinokonsiderang grounds for perpetual disqualification sa pag-upo sa public office ang hindi makakapagpasa ng SOCE.

Ayon sa poll body, obligadong maghain ng SOCE ang mga kandidato, party-lists, at political parties hanggang Hunyo 11, 2025 mula alas-8 ng umaga hanggang alas-5 ng hapon kahit na:

They were elected or not
They neither incurred expenses nor received any contribution
They did not pursue or continue their campaign
They self-funded their campaign; or
They withdrew their campaign, unless it was done before the start of the campaign period

Saad sa Section 14 ng Republic Act 7166 na ang bigong pagpasa ng SOCE ay may katumbas na administrative offense na may administrative fine mula P1,000 hanggang P30,000.

Para sa ikalawa o ikatlong pagsasagawa ng naturang offense, “the administrative fine shall be from Two thousand pesos (P2,000.00) to Sixty thousand pesos (P60,000.00), at the discretion of the Commission. In addition, the offender shall be subject to perpetual disqualification to hold public office.” RNT/JGC
