MANILA, Philippines – Iniulat ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) nitong Sabado, Oktubre 26 na nasa 80,000 na ng inaasahang 110,000 automated counting machines (ACMs) para sa 2025 national and local elections ang dumating na sa bansa.
Ang ACMs ay gagamitin para sa halalan sa susunod na taon at sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao parliamentary elections.
“As of yesterday (Friday), we have almost 80,000 machines already delivered to the warehouse of the Comelec in Biñan, Laguna,” pahayag ni Comelec Chairperson George Garcia sa panayam sa sidelines ng ceremonial turnover ng printing machines at printing ng test ballots sa National Printing Office (NPO) sa Quezon City.
Ani Garcia, ang printing ng 1.2 milyong test ballots ay inaasahang makukumpleto sa loob ng tatlong araw.
Ang mga ito ay gagamitin para sa nationwide information campaign sa paggamit ng ACMs.
Samantala, nakumpleto na ng service provider na Miru Systems ang pag-manufacture ng 105,000 ACMs sa South Korea.
“That is way ahead of our schedule. We expect to complete our production by next week,” ayon kay Miru vice president Ken Cho.
“So by the end of November, for sure everything will be delivered to the Biñan warehouse. That is at least a month ahead of schedule.”
Sinabi ni Garcia na mayroong 68 milyong registered voters sa buong bansa sa kasalukuyan.
Ayon sa Comelec, mag-iimprenta sila ng balota batay sa bilang ng mga botante, na nakatakdang magsimula sa Disyembre.
“We will only print what is necessary, unlike what happened in the past when there were excess ballots,” aniya. RNT/JGC
