MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) nitong Sabado, Abril 6 na magpapadala ito ng family food packs sa mga residente ng Batanes makaraang itaas ang tsunami warning sa probinsya noong Abril 3.
Ang tsunami warning ay inilabas matapos ang magnitude 7.3 na lindol na tumama sa Taiwan.
Ayon kay DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao, unang ipinadala ang 600 FFPs noong Abril 5.
“The family food packs are part of the DSWD’s augmentation support to the provincial government of Batanes which is one of the three provinces alerted for the possible occurrence of tsunami waves. As instructed by Secretary Rex Gatchalian, he wants that relief supplies are ready for any eventuality,” ani Dumlao.
Dagdag pa niya, ang 1,200 FFPs ay dinala ng Philippine Air Force nitong Sabado, kasunod ang 5,200 FFPs.
“Our DSWD Field Offices in Ilocos Region and Cagayan Valley are constantly coordinating with the concerned regional Offices of Civil Defense (OCD) and PAF to ensure the smooth delivery of the family food packs to the recipient local government,” dagdag pa niya. RNT/JGC
