MANILA, Philippines – Todo suporta ang ipagkakaloob ng Department of Justice (DOJ) sa security guard nito na nasaktan matapos kuyugin ng mga ralyista nitong Hulyo 18, 2024.
Sinabi ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla na “all out” ang ibibigay ng kagawaran na suporta kay Kevin Paz at sa pamilya nitohanggang sa makamit nito ang hustisya.
“The State unconditionally respects the right of the people to peaceably assemble and petition the government for redress of their grievances, however, in the name of justice and fair play, this right must end once the right of others begins,” ani Secretary Remulla.
Nitong Hulyo 18, 2024 sumugod ang BAYAN Timog Katagalugan at iba pang grupo sa DOJ main office sa Ermita, Manila para igiit ang pagkadismaya sa paghawak ng pamahalaan sa kaso ni BAYAN Laguna member Elizabeth Camoral na kabilang sa naaresto sa tinaguriang “Bloody Sunday.”
Sinita ni Paz ang mga ralyista nang makita nito na nag-spray na sa pader ng DOJ ang ilang ralyista.
Dahil dito nagalit ang mga ralyista at saka umano siya sinuntok at pinukpok ng spray can.

Sinabi naman ni Justice Undersecretary Jesse Andres na itutuloy ng DOJ ang pagsasmpa ng kaso laban sa mga sangkot na protester.
Maghihigpit na rin aniya ang DOJ sa mga nagsasagawa ng protest actions. TERESA TAVARES
