MANILA, Philippines – Inilagay ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) sa ilalim ng pangangasiwa ng
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Ito ay upang ma-maximize ang potensyal nito sa local movie industry.
Binago rin ng Pangulo ang komposisyon ng FAP upang mapalakas ang naturang ‘film body’ at sumabay sa mga programa ng pamahalaan sa film industry.
“To maximize the full potential of the Philippine film industry, it is imperative to ensure that world-class Filipino talents in the field of motion picture arts and sciences are given due recognition and assistance by the national government,” saad sa Executive Order No. 70 (EO 70) na may petsang Oktubre 2.
Idinagdag pa ni Marcos na kailangan ding palawakin pa ang depinisyon ng “duties and functions to complement the programs, activities and projects of existing government bodies involved in the promotion and development of the Philippine film industry” ng FAP.
Ang FAP ay nilikha noong 1981 sa panahon ng kanyang ama na si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr. RNT/JGC
