MANILA, Philippines – Bumagsak ang isang chopper ng Philippine Navy sa Sangley Airport sa Cavite City nitong Huwebes, Disyembre 5.
“This is to confirm that one of our AW-109s crashed early this morning around 10:18 a.m. at the Sangley Airport,” ayon kay Navy spokesperson Commander John Percie Alcos sa panayam ng ABS-CBN News.
Ani Alcos, nagtamo ng mga pasa sa katawan ang dalawang piloto at tatlong crew members.
“Okay naman sila [mga sakay]. One is being treated for leg injuries pero hindi naman severe,” dagdag pa.
Aniya, nag-take off ang AW-109 helicopter sa Sangley Airport para magsagawa ng functional check flight matapos makumpleto ang 400-hour scheduled maintenance inspection nito.
Nasa ikatlong sortie na ang eroplano nang mag-crash habang sinusubukang lumapag sa Paliparan.
“Magla-land na siya. May iba’t ibang checks na gagawin. For this particular one, they were conducting the auto-rotation check. That was when it crashed,” ayon kay Alcos.
“Doon [Sangley Airport] din siya babalik. Doon siya nagcrash. Magla-land na siya [sana],” dagdag nito.
Isinasagawa na ang imbestigasyon para matukoy ang sanhi ng pagbagsak ng helicopter.
“We cannot ascertain ano ang exact degree ng damage doon sa chopper and we will release that once the investigation is completed.”
“We haven’t received word from the Naval Air Wing yet, pero I think based on protocols, ginaground natin ang mga aircraft natin except for those na operationally kailangang-kailangan sa area,” sinabi pa ni Alcos. RNT/JGC
