MANILA, Philippines- Nasa 89 dayuhang sangkot umano sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) at scam hubs ang idineport nitong Hunyo, ayon sa Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) nitong Huwebes.
Kabilang sa mga na-deport mula June 3 hanggang 5 ang 77 Vietnamese at 12 South Koreans, na nadakip sa serye ng inter-agency operations laban sa illegal offshore gaming operations at scam hubs sa buong bansa.
Bilang bahagi ng deportasyon, tumulak ang delegasyon mula sa Pilipinas sa pangunguna ni PAOCC Undersecretary Gilberto Cruz sa Vietnam. Nakipagkita siya kay Colonel Le Khac Son, ang Deputy Director ng Vietnam’s Criminal Police Department, at tinalakay ang pagpapalakas ng joint efforts upang labanan ang transnational crimes, partikular ang mga sangkot sa mga sindikato sa Southeast Asia.
“We are sending a clear message: the Philippines will no longer be allowed to be a sanctuary for foreign nationals exploiting the international digital and legal systems. These deportations are part of a focused campaign to disrupt the criminal syndicates at the source,” pahayag ni Cruz.
“Every individual we deport who is involved in these illegal operations is one less threat to the Filipino people. We will continue to identify, apprehend, and remove those who violate our laws,” dagdag niya. “Deportation is only one layer of our operation. We will be creating a near-regional cohort of intelligence, coordination, and legal associations to assure the syndicates do not move their operation from the Philippines to another jurisdiction and convert back to operational mode again.” RNT/SA
