MANILA, Philippines – Nagpaplano ang Sandiganbayan na lumikha ng public information division para bigyan ang publiko ng mas mahusay na pang-unawa sa mga desisyon ng anti-graft court.
“Well, it is of course known to everybody that the cases here involve public officials, and most of these cases are complex. We feel that the creation of a Public Information Division is important,” ayon kay Sandiganbayan Presiding Justice Geraldine Faith Econg.
“We need a spokesperson to explain and to reach out to the public in order for the public to understand why the decisions of the court are in that way,” dagdag niya.
Sinabi ni Econg na dahil sa legal na teknikalidad, may posibilidad na ma-misinterpret ang mga desisyon ng anti-graft court, lalo na sa bahagi ng mga natalo sa kaso.
“Sometimes, when people hear that cases are decided, there is, of course, a victor and there are those who lose the case. And those who lose the case will misunderstand our decision,” aniya.
“It is our hope that through a public information division, we can reach out to the masses in a language that they can understand better,” saad pa niya. RNT/MND
