MANILA, Philippines – Ang Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), kasama ang Globe at GCash, ay namahagi ng mga smartphone sa 256 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries sa katimugang bayan ng Bataraza at Brooke’s Point sa Palawan.
Sa isang pahayag nitong Linggo, sinabi ng DSWD na ang pamamahagi ng mga refurbished smartphones ay nasa ilalim ng Pre-loved Phone Donation Drive, katuwang ang pribadong sektor.
Ito ay bahagi ng “E-Panalo ang Kinabukasan” campaign ng ahensya, na naglalayong magdala ng digital financial literacy at mga kasangkapan sa mga pamilya ng 4Ps, lalo na sa mga nasa malalayong lugar.
Sa pamamagitan ng mga smartphone, maaaring matanggap ng mga benepisyaryo ng 4Ps ang kanilang mga cash grant sa pamamagitan ng digital banking gayundin ang paggamit nito para sa online learning at mga digital na negosyo.
“Our aim is to bring government services closer to where people are,” ani DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian.
“With digital tools in hand, families no longer need to walk long distances just to access their cash grants. That alone can change lives,” dagdag niya.
Sa panahon ng pamamahagi ng mga smartphone, ang mga benepisyaryo ng 4Ps ay nakibahagi rin sa mga sesyon ng financial literacy.
