MANILA, Philippines – Magdo-donate ang gobyerno ng South Korea ng 2,016 metric tons ng bigas sa Pilipinas ngayong Agosto bilang suporta sa food security at disaster response efforts, ayon sa Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines.
Sa kabuuang halaga, 1,616 metric tons ang ilalaan sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) habang 400 metric tons naman ay mapupunta sa Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
“This donation aims to support swift responses to humanitarian crises and persistent rice shortages in vulnerable communities,” anila.
“Through this contribution, the Korean government hopes to support the Philippine government’s efforts in advancing food security, responding to natural disasters, to addressing the impacts of climate change.”
“With the inauguration of President Lee Jae-myung’s new government, stability has been restored across the board. We believe this renewed confidence at home will translate into fresh momentum in our 76-year-old ties,” ani Lee. RNT/JGC
