UNDER the leadership of National Capital Region Police Office director PMGen. Anthony Aberin, Quezon City continues to see decisive victories in its ongoing battle against crime.
Recent operations have struck at the heart of the city’s drug trade and criminal activities, reflecting Aberin’s vision of swift, coordinated law enforcement that leaves no room for criminals to thrive.
One of the most significant operations took place on July 26, 2025, when officers from the Batasan Police Station, led by Lt. Col. Mel Avenido, successfully arrested a high-value target drug dealer in Barangay Commonwealth.
In a well-executed buy-bust, the team confiscated over 3 kilograms of hashish and marijuana, worth ₱377,000.
This swift operation has been hailed for cutting off a key source of illegal drugs in the city and is seen as a direct hit to drug syndicates operating within Quezon City.
While Aberin’s emphasis on rapid response and inter-agency coordination has been central to the success of this operation, the strategic direction and leadership of Col. Glen Silvio, QCPD Chief, also played a critical role in ensuring that the operation ran smoothly.
“This successful bust is a direct result of our continued commitment to disrupting the drug trade in Metro Manila,” Col. Silvio remarked, acknowledging the collaborative efforts of the team on the ground.
In another major operation, just days earlier, three individuals involved in the theft of copper cables were arrested – thanks to a timely 911 tip-off.
The swift pursuit and interception of the suspects, who were caught with ₱400,000 worth of stolen cables, showcased how quickly the NCRPO can mobilize to address various criminal activities.
These operations, successful in both drug enforcement and theft prevention, are a direct reflection of the operational model championed by Aberin.
By focusing on fast, well-coordinated police work, the NCRPO is ensuring criminals face swift justice.
This approach, also backed by the overarching directives of Chief PNP Gen. Nicolas Torre III, is beginning to show tangible results, building safer communities and sending a clear message that crime will not go unchallenged.
