MANILA, Philippines – Sisiyasatin ng House Committee on Justice ang kahilingan ng extradition ng Estados Unidos para kay Apollo Quiboloy upang tugunan ang anumang mga kakulangan at kalabuan sa proseso.
Si House justice panel vice chairperson at Bukidnon Representative Jonathan Flores ang naghain ng mosyon para isagawa ang imbestigasyon.
Sinabi ni House Committee on Justice chairperson at Batangas Representative Gerville Luistro na tutugunan ng pagtatanong ang mga butas sa kasalukuyang mga batas sa extradition tulad ng 1994 extradition treaty sa pagitan ng US at Pilipinas at ang Philippine Extradition Law na pinagtibay noong 1977.
Si Quiboloy na isa sa mga most wanted na indibidwal ng US Federal Bureau of Investigation dahil sa umano’y pagsasabwatan sa sex trafficking sa pamamagitan ng puwersa, pandaraya at pamimilit at sex trafficking ng mga bata; at bulk cash smuggling, ay nahaharap din sa mga kasong kriminal sa Pilipinas.
Kasama sa mga kasong kriminal ni Quiboloy sa Pilipinas ang violation of Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act at non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of Republic Act No. 9208, as amended.
“This is not about prejudging anyone’s guilt. It is about upholding the rule of law, honoring our treaty commitments, and ensuring that victims see swift, fair, and transparent action,” ani Luistro. RNT/MND
