MANILA, Philippines – Pinasinungalingan ng Malakanyang nitong Sabado, Setyembre 6 ang pahayag ng kampo nina Sarah at Curlee Discaya na hindi bahagi ng kanilang kontrata ang hindi natapos na trabaho sa Philippine Film Heritage Building sa Intramuros, Manila.
Sa pahayag, sinabi ni Palace Press Officer Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro na ang umano’y kontrata na binanggit ni Atty. Cornelio Samaniego, legal counsel ng mga Discaya, “is not the same work/contract” na umano’y nakumpleto na noong Disyembre 2024, ay “wrong information given to the media may cause confusion to the people.”
Sinabi ni Castro na ang kontratista, na tumutukoy sa mga Discaya, ay boluntaryong pumasok sa Contract Agreement na may petsang Enero 2, 2025 kasama ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), “wherein the contractor agreed to execute the ‘works’ under Contract ID No. 230H0119: Local Program/ National Building Program/ Buildings and other Structures- Multi-Purpose/Facilities- Construction of FDCP Film Heritage Building located in Intramuros, Manila for the total contract price of P107,983,255.11.”
“This contract has a project duration of 240 calendar days with the original expiry date on September 4, 2025,” ani Castro.
“Common sense will dictate us that the contractor cannot finish the project in December 2024 when the contract was merely executed into a contract on January 2, 2025,” dagdag pa niya.
Bago rito, sinabi ni Samaniego na ang Philippine Film Heritage Building project ay hinati sa dalawang phase, at ang Phase 1 ay itinurn-over sa Great Pacific Builders and General Contractor Inc. na pagmamay-ari ng mga Discaya.
Ang Phase 2, ani Samaniego, ay sinimulan naman noong Enero 2025 ay naka-kontrata sa ibang kompanya.
Aniya, ang Phase 1 ay nakumpleto noong Disyembre 2024.
Ngayong linggo, inanunsyo ng Malakanyang na ang Great Pacific Builders and General Contractor ay iimbestigahan sa umano’y palpak na trabaho sa Philippine Film Heritage Building.
Batay sa impormasyon na inilabas ni Castro, nakita sa obserbasyon ang mali-maling pagkakalagay ng downspouts, at hindi pasok sa quality standards ang finishing ng isa sa mga elevator nito.
Ang ilan din sa mga lugar ay walang tiles, ani Castro.
Maaaring maharap sa reklamo ang mga kontratista sa substandard reconstruction ng gusali.
