MANILA, Philippines — Inaasahang lalo pang lalaki ang information technology at business process management (IT-BPM) industry ng bansa sa susunod na dalawang taon.
Ayon kay Jack Madrid, president at CEO ng IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP), inaasahang aabot sa $42 bilyon ang kita ng sektor pagsapit ng 2026, mas mataas ng 5% kumpara sa forecast ngayong taon na $40 bilyon.
Tinatayang aabot din sa 1.97 milyong Pilipino ang mabibigyan ng trabaho sa industriya sa susunod na taon.
“Our core remains intact: banking, financial services, health care and yes, we are the world leader in digital customer experience,” pahayag ni Madrid sa International IT-BPM Summit 2025 nitong Martes.
Dagdag pa niya, nakatutulong sa paglago ng industriya ang “slightly higher growth rate” ng global capability centers (GCCs), na nagbibigay ng suporta sa operasyon ng mga multinational companies para sa IT, finance, customer service at research and development.
“It’s encouraging to see the continuing interest from existing GCCs and prospective GCCs, not just from the US, but even from markets like Australia and Europe,” ani Madrid.
Sa kasalukuyan, may 170 GCCs sa Pilipinas—malayo pa sa mahigit 2,000 GCCs ng India. Gayunman, naniniwala si Madrid na ang bansa ay may sapat na talento, cost efficiency at ecosystem upang maging natural GCC hub pagkatapos ng India.
“There is no limit to what we can do because I think there is way more potential to grow between India and the Philippines,” dagdag niya.
Batay sa datos, tinatayang aabot sa $155 bilyon ang global GCC market pagsapit ng 2027.
Bagama’t positibo ang outlook, iginiit ni Madrid na hindi dapat maging kampante ang sektor.
“We cannot afford complacency. We cannot allow the sunset industry narrative to take root because we’re growing faster than the global market,” aniya.
Sa ngayon, halos 2 milyong Pilipino na ang nagtatrabaho sa IT-BPM industry na kumakatawan sa 8% ng gross domestic product ng bansa. RNT/JGC
