MANILA, Philippines – Handang umuwi ng Pilipinas si Ako Bicol Rep. Zaldy Co upang pabulaanan ang mga alegasyon laban sa kaniya.
Sa kaniyang deklarasyon sa sulat na ipinadala kay House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III ay nanindigan si Co na determinado siyang bumalik ng bansa dahil wala siyang itinatago at aniya’y handa niyang harapin ang mga kritiko sa tamang lugar at panahon.
“I have every intention of returning to the Philippines. I am also intent on belying the false claims made against me before the proper forum,” giit ng mambabatas.
Itinanggi rin ni Co na nagkaroon ng budget insertions at ikinagulat umano niya ang biglang pagbawi sa kaniyang aprubadong travel clearance habang ito ay nasa ibang bansa upang magpagamot.
“I received news of your revocation of my travel clearance with both sadness and grave concern. I am saddened that my colleagues in the House of Representatives would deprive me of the time needed for medical care that I have long previously scheduled and gravely concerned that the decision to revoke my travel clearance was borne by pressure, rather than adherence to facts and procedure,” ayon kay Co sa kaniyang liham kay Speaker Dy na may petsang September 25, 2025.
Si Co ay nahaharap sa alegasyong nakapagsingit ito ng ilang probisyon sa Bicameral Report at 2025 General Appropriations Act na tahasang pinabubulaanan ng kongresista.
“The insinuation that, on my own, I had made insertions is untrue. The Bicameral Report and 2025 GAA were approved by both Houses at plenary sessions and followed the proper process. I am very much apprehensive about what awaits me should I return, given that the public and your good office have prejudged me,” sinabi pa ni Co sa kaniyang liham.
Itinanggi rin niya ang ilang alegasyon na ang kaniyang pamilya ay nakabili at nagmamay-ari ng isang aircraft na siyang naglipad umano kay dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa The Hague.
Maging ang mga naunang akusasyon na humingi ito ng fish import allocations para sa “ZC Victory Fishing Corporation,” maging ang pagtanggap nito ng pondo mula sa Department of Public Works and Highways funds sa pagsasabing, “these are false, baseless, and politically charged.”
Iginiit pa ni Co sa kaniyang liham na kasinungalingan, walang basehan at pamumulitika lamang ang mga testimonya sa Senado, sa Kamara at maging sa media sa pagsasabing “have condemned me in the court of public opinion and have stirred public hatred against my family and me. This has caused the public to condemn and prejudge me even though no complaint before the proper fora has been filed against me. “
Sa kabila ng pagbawi sa kaniyang travel authority, ay binigyang-diin ni Co na sana ay ipagkaloob sa kanya ang patas na due process.
