TARLAC CITY, Philippines – Arestado ang isang “pekeng” abogado sa Tarlac City matapos lokohin ang isang biktima ng P5 milyon kapalit ng paborableng desisyon ng korte sa isang pagtatalo sa lupa, sinabi ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) noong Biyernes, Oktubre 24.
Kinilala ng NBI ang nadakip na si Jenny Macanas Sapad na gumagamit din ng mga alyas na Shiela Castillo at Angel Roxas.
“Subject’s name is not listed as a lawyer on the official websites of the Supreme Court’s Office of the Bar Confidant and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines.”
Sinabi rin nitong inaresto ng Criminal Intelligence Division (NBI-CRID) si Sapad batay sa reklamo na umano’y “a certain ‘Sheila Naransa Castillo’ who represented herself as a lawyer, deceived the complainant into giving P5,000,000 in exchange for a favorable court resolution regarding a parcel of land.”
Sinabi ng NBI na ang nagrereklamo, na hindi isiniwalat ang pangalan, ay isang interesadong partido sa alitan sa lupa at garantisadong magiging awardee ng property.
Idinagdag nito na si “Atty. Castillo” ay nagprisinta sa nagrereklamo ng mga pekeng resibo at dokumentong pinirmahan ng isang hukom at isang clerk ng Court ng Regional Trial Courts (RTCs) ng Tarlac.
Matapos maaresto, sinampahan si Sapad ng syndicated estafa sa pamamagitan ng falsification of public documents kaugnay ng Republic Act (RA) No. 10175, the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), paggamit ng fictitious name at pagtatago ng totoong pangalan, at usurpation of authority and official function sa ilalim ng Revised Penal Code (RPC).
