MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ng grupong Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) na dapat ay kapwa panagutin si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Vice President Sara Duterte sa mga isyu ng korapsyon.
Sa reaksyon sa video na inilabas ni dating congressman Zaldy Co na nagdidiin kay Marcos at dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa flood-control scam, sinabi ng Bayan na ang akusasyon “[confirm] what many of us have been saying all along—that the President is the single person mainly responsible for the corruption-infested national budgets.”
Matatandaan na kumanta si Co at inakusahan si Marcos, sa pamamagitan ni Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, at Romualdez na nag-utos sa kanyang ipasok ang P100 bilyong halaga ng mga proyekto sa 2025 national budget habang siya ang chairman ng House appropriations panel.
“Unless he admits to complete incompetence, he himself should be investigated and held accountable for his central role in the entire scam,” pahayag ng Bayan.
Sinabi pa ng progresibong grupo na bukod kay Marcos, dapat ding panagutin si Duterte sa “wantonly misusing her confidential funds and the Department of Education’s budget.”
Matatandaan na ang mga akusasyong ito ang nagtulak kay Duterte para siya ay ma-impeach ngayong taon ngunit naglabas ng ruling ang Korte Suprema laban dito at sinabing nilabag ang ban sa impeachment sa kaparehong opisyal sa kaparehong taon.
“[The] Marcos and Duterte dynasties are both guilty of using their power to entrench plunder, corruption, and impunity,” sinabi ng grupo.
“To single out only one faction, or to refuse to name all those principally responsible for the grand larceny of people’s money, is not only myopic and misleading but is nothing less than political opportunism that promotes the interests of the truly corrupt under the guise of combating corruption.” RNT/JGC
