MANILA, Philippines – Nagsagawa ng special raffle ang Sandiganbayan sa mga kasong inihain laban kay dating Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Zaldy Co, mga opisyal ng Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Region 4B at Sunwest Construction kaugnay sa P289 milyong road dike project sa Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
Hahawakan ng Fifth Division, na pinamumunuan ni Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Zaldy Trespeses, ang kaso sa umano’y paglabag sa Section 3.e ng Anti Graft and Corrupt Practices Act kaugnay sa “causing any undue injury to any party, including the government, or giving any private party any unwarranted benefits, advantage or preference in the discharge of his official administrative or judicial functions through manifest partiality, evident bad faith or gross inexcusable negligence.”
Ang iba pang miyembro ng Fifth Division ay sina Associate Justices Maryann Corpus-Mañalac at Gener Gito.
Susuriin naman ng Seventh Division na pinamumunuan ni Associate Justice Loriefel Pahimna, ang kaso sa umano’y paglabag sa Section 3.h ng Anti Graft and Corrupt Practices Act sa “directly or indirectly having financial or pecuniary interest in any business, contract or transaction in connection with which he intervenes or takes part in his official capacity, or in which he is prohibited by the Constitution or by any law from having any interest.”
Miyembro rin ng Seventh Division si Associate Justice Georgina Hidalgo.
Ang bawat Sandiganbayan division ay binubuo ng tatlong hurado, nangangahulugan na mayroong bakante sa Seventh Division.
Maaari namang magtalaga ng special member ng division ang Sandiganbayan para punan ang bakante.
Samantala, ang Sixth Division na pinamumunuan ni Associate Justice Sarah Jane Fernandez, na hahawak sa malversation charge.
Ang mga miyembro ng Sixth Division ay sina Associate Justices Lord Villanueva at Kevin Vivero.
Naghain ang Ombudsman ng reklamo nitong Martes, Nobyembre 18 na marka ng unang paghahain ng mga kasong kriminal laban sa mga sangkot sa anomalya sa flood control projects.
