MANILA, Philippines – Sinabi ni House Senior Deputy Minority Leader Edgar “Egay” Erice noong Miyerkules na ang Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) ay “patay na” kasunod ng pagbibitiw ni commissioner Babes Singson.
“ICI is now dead, it has no credibility especially ngayon bago ng bago ang naratibo ng Palasyo,” ayon kay Erice, at nagbabala na ang cover-up ay “mangangailangan ng sunud-sunod na cover-ups hanggang sumabog sa kanilang mukha.”
Tungkol sa pagbibitiw ni Singson, dagdag ni Erice: “He feels that why would he allow himself and his family the risk and sacrifice their privacy to solve the problem of Malacañang, family feud and trying to find who stole from government. He feels that they are becoming a punching bag… without congressional mandate of the ICI, kulang na kulang authority nila.”
Binanggit din ni Erice na ang panukalang batas para sa Independent Commission Against Infrastructure Corruption (ICAIC) ay magbibigay ng immunity sa mga commissioner laban sa pananagutan at posibleng paghihiganti. RNT
