MANILA, Philippines – Naghain ng kabi-kabilang reklamo ang civil society leaders kabilang ang plunder, bribery, malversation, at graft laban kina Vice President Sara Duterte at 15 iba pa sa umano’y maling paggamit ng P612.5 milyong halaga ng confidential funds.
Naghain ng reklamo ang koalisyon ng mga pari, academics, rights advocates at mamamahayag kabilang si Fr. Flaviano Villanueva, Fr. Roberto Reyes, at ekonomista at dating DOF Undersecretary Dr. Maria Cielo Magno, sa Office of the Ombudsman nitong Biyernes ng hapon, Disyembre 12.
Sinabi ng mga complainant na ang mga respondent ay lumabag sa Section 2 ng Republic Act (RA) No. 7080 as amended by RA 7659 (plunder); Article 219 and 212 of the Revised Penal Code (bribery and corruotion of public officials); Article 217 of the Revised Penal Code (malversation); Section 2(a) and (e) of the RA 3019 (graft); at Article XI, Section 2 of the 1987 Constitution (betrayal of public trust).

Ang reklamo ay nag-ugat sa P612.5 milyong confidential funds na umano’y “diverted, misused and concealed through coordinated schemes” na ginawa sa Office of the Vice President at Department of Education, na pinamunuan ni Duterte mula 2022 hanggang Hunyo 2024.
Sakop ng halaga ang P500 milyong CFs na inilaan sa OVP noong 2022 at 2023, at P112.5 milyon nang siya ay pinuno pa ng DepEd.
Noong Setyembre 2024, kinumpirma ni Marikina 2nd District Rep. Stella Quimbo na ang P125 milyong CF ng OVP noong 2022 ay ginastos lamang sa loob ng 11 araw.
