MANILA, Philippines – Isinailalim sa restrictive custody ng National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) ang walong anti-narcotics na pulis dahil sa umano’y pagkakasangkot sa pagnanakaw habang nagsasagawa ng operasyon sa Pasig City.
Ayon kay NCRPO director Police Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin, ang mga sangkot ay mula sa District Drug Enforcement Unit ng Eastern Police District at agad na dinisarmahan matapos masangkot sa reklamong robbery.
“This is part of our commitment to discipline and accountability within the organization. The NCRPO maintains a firm policy against any form of abuse of authority, misconduct, or deviation from police operational procedures,” ani Aberin, kasabay ng pag-utos ng masusing imbestigasyon sa insidenteng naganap alas-2 ng hapon noong Disyembre 26 sa Barangay Palatiw.
Batay sa ulat, pumasok ang walong pulis sa isang bahay upang hanapin ang isang hinihinalang sangkot sa droga.
Ayon sa mga nakatira roon, may mga personal na gamit umanong kinuha ng mga pulis kaya humingi sila ng tulong sa Pasig City Police Station.
Sa beripikasyon, sinabi ni Aberin na walang naipakitang opisyal na dokumento ang mga pulis upang patunayan na lehitimo ang isinagawang anti-illegal drugs operation sa lugar.
Agad na isinailalim sa kustodiya ang lahat ng sangkot sa Pasig City Police Station at isasailalim sa inquest proceedings.
“The authority vested in every police officer carries with it a higher level of responsibility. At the NCRPO, we will not tolerate abuse of authority and instead, we will hold all those responsible accountable for violation of our procedures and of the law,” dagdag ni Aberin. RNT/MND
