MANILA, Philippines – Umabot sa P934.4 bilyon ang nakolektang kita ng Bureau of Customs para sa taong 2025.
Sa kabila nito ay bigong maabot ng ahensya ang target dahil sa mababang import volumes, rice import ban, at global price fluctuations.
Ang preliminary figure ay 2.5 percent na mas mababa sa target ng BOC na P958.7 bilyon, o kulang ng P24 bilyon.
Nagpahiwatig na si Finance Secretary Frederick Go na ng revenue collections ay maaaring bumaba dahil sa “extraordinary” circumstances.
Kabilang din aniya rito ang korapsyon sa flood control.
Sa kabila nito, mas mataas pa rin ang 2025 intake ng BOC ng 1.9 percent o P17.7 bilyon kumpara noong 2024.
“The performance highlighted the positive impact of the bureau’s efficiency, strengthened compliance measures and the expanded use of digital systems in sustaining the revenue collection,” saad sa pahayag ng ahensya. RNT/JGC
