MANILA, Philippines – Hinimok ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang mga Katolikong mananampalataya na hayaang magsilbing gabay sa kanilang pamumuhay ang debosyon sa Poong Jesus Nazareno habang ginugunita ang taunang Kapistahan ng Poong Nazareno.
Sa kanyang mensahe, nagbigay ng pagninilay ang Pangulo sa sakripisyo, pagtitiyaga, at pagkakaisa na isinasabuhay sa debosyon.
“As we mark this year’s Feast, I invite everyone not only to reach for the Nazareno’s image, but to let this devotion guide the way we think, act, and help one another long after the procession has passed,” ani Marcos.
“If we can go through great lengths for a moment of contact with the image, we can also persevere in the daily work of choosing honesty over falsehood, service over self-interest, and compassion over indifference,” dagdag pa niya.
Ipinahayag ng Pangulo ang pag-asang magbubunga ang Kapistahan ng mas matibay na pangako sa pagtutulungan, mas patas na oportunidad, at patuloy na pag-asa sa araw-araw.
“May this celebration deepen our shared vow to carry one another’s burdens, share opportunity more fairly, and keep hope alive in the everyday choices that we make to build a more humane and faithful Bagong Pilipinas,” ayon sa kanya.
Ayon kay Marcos, ang prusisyon ng Poong Nazareno ay paalala na “Filipino faith walks barefoot on hot pavement, squeezes through crowded streets, and bears upon its shoulders the daily worries of our countrymen striving for a more certain tomorrow.”
Dagdag pa niya, ang imahen ng Panginoong bumubuwal sa bigat ng krus ay sumasalamin sa isang bayang napapagod ngunit patuloy na bumabangon at sumusulong nang magkakasama.
Kinilala rin ng Pangulo na ipinapakita ng mga panalangin at kuwento ng mga deboto ang pangangailangan sa mas tumutugong pamahalaan at serbisyong publiko.
“By listening to their hopes, aspirations, and prayers, we come to see the gap between the burdens people carry and the support they receive, and recognize where wiser governance and more responsive services can help bridge that distance,” ani Marcos.
Idineklara ang Enero 9 bilang special non-working day sa Lungsod ng Maynila upang matiyak ang maayos na paggunita ng Kapistahan ng Poong Jesus Nazareno, na inaasahang dadaluhan ng milyon-milyong deboto sa Quiapo. RNT
