MANILA, Philippines – Kinondena ni Philippine Army commander Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete ang ambush ng Dawlah Islamiyah–Maute Group (DI-MG) na ikinamatay ng apat na sundalo sa Munai, Lanao del Norte nitong Biyernes, at tinawag ang pag-atake na “heinous and cowardly.”
“We mourn the loss of our four valiant troops who made the ultimate sacrifice in safeguarding communities in Lanao del Norte. The PA pledges our full and unwavering support to their families as we honor their selfless service to our nation,” ani Nafarrete sa isang mensahe sa mga reporter.
Ayon sa mga unang ulat, nagsasagawa ang mga tropa ng community outreach work sa Barangay Lininding nang silang atakihin bandang 10 a.m.
Sinabi ni Nafarrete na pinatitindi ng Army ang operasyon sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga law enforcement agencies, local government units, at partner communities upang habulin ang natitirang mga DI-MG terrorists sa lugar.
Aniya, nananatiling “resolute and unbreakable” ang Army sa misyon nitong paglilingkod at pagtiyak ng seguridad, at nangako na “no let up in our operations until justice is served.”
“No safe haven will remain for the terrorists who carried out this treacherous attack,” dagdag pa niya. RNT
