MANILA, Philippines – Ibinunyag ni Senador Risa Hontiveros na tatakbo siya sa pagka-Pangulo sa 2028 kung pipiliin siya ng opposition bloc bilang standard bearer.
Sa Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines forum, sinabi ni Hontiveros na handa siyang tumakbo sa pinakamataas na posisyon sa bansa sa 2028 ngunit naka-depende ito sa desisyon din ng opposition parties o mga sektor.
“The opposition is working hard on uniting because it is only if we unite that we will have a fighting chance,” dagdag ni Hontiveros.
Aniya, nagsisimula na silang makipag-usap sa iba’t ibang grupo.
“Enough shared values. We have to be at the heart of that. There can’t be nothing there. Enough shared values and there will possibly be a measure of pragmatism too. And that’s what’s also under discussion,” anang senador.
Nang tanungin kung magiging bahagi ng united opposition ang kampo ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa oras na tumakbo rin bilang pangulo si Vice President Sara Duterte, ang sagot ni Hontiveros ay:
“If that possibility arose and approached us, it will require a lot of thinking and talking among us first because of the different beliefs for example.. Are there common values, what’s the degree of pragmatism here, and is there a balance here that we can both live with… I don’t know as of now.”
Sa ngayon ay marami pa umanong trabaho sa Senado na kailangang gawin at marami pa ang mangyayari sa susunod na dalawang taon. RNT/JGC
