MANILA, Philippines – HINIKAYAT ng Philippine Navy ang mga Filipino na manatiling bigilante at alamin ang tunay na banta sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).
Nagbabala rin ito sa layunin ng Chinese Communist Party (CCP) na hatiin ang opinyon ng mga mamamayan at pag-awayin ang mga lider, para malihis ang atensyon sa panghihimasok ng mga barko ng Tsina sa Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) ng Pilipinas.
Kaya nga, pinag-iingat ni Navy Spokesperson Rear Admiral Roy Vincent Trinidad ang publiko na magambala ng political debates na nakapalibot sa WPS issue, sabay sabing ang nasabing diskurso ay bahagi ng estratehiya ng CCP na pagwatak-watakin ang lipunan at ang mga lider.
“The objective of foreign malign influence (FMI) is to divide Philippine society, divide leaders, and make us forget that the bigger issue is the PLA Navy, Chinese Coast Guard, and maritime militia infiltrating our EEZ,” ayon kay Trinidad.
“Understanding how they operate is crucial so we don’t lose sight of our real enemy in the West Philippine Sea,” aniya pa rin.
Sa military parlance, ang FMI ay tumutukoy sa “subversive, undeclared, or coercive activities by foreign actors designed to manipulate public opinion, erode trust in institutions, and subvert democratic processes to serve their own interests.”
Binigyang diin ni Trinidad na nananatiling matatag ang posisyon ng gobyerno sa isyu ng WPS.
“WPS is ours. We will not give up one square inch. There has been illegal presence since 1992 of the Chinese Coast Guard, the PLA Navy, and recently the maritime militia,” ang sinabi ni Trinidad.
“The AFP will continue performing its mandate as we have done ever since,” aniya pa rin.
Aniya, mahigpit na nago-operate ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa loob ng “constitutional at territorial limits” at handang ipagtanggol ang soberanya ng bansa.
“Our personnel are mature enough to separate political discourse from our mission to secure and protect the country’s territory. We have legal, international, and domestic law on our side,” ang sinabi ni Trinidad.
Sa kabilang dako, winelcome naman ni Trinidad ang pagtatalaga ng Department of Foreign Affairs ng bagong WPS spokesperson, inilarawan niya ang hakbang ng DFA bilang epektibong paraan ng paghahatid ng ‘unified message.’
“We follow the dictum that one message, many voices… One message but different messengers. So long as the message is the same, it’s more effective that way,” anito.
Samantala, posibleng sinasamantala ng Tsina ang misinformation at bangayan ng mga opisyal ng pamahalaan para makalimutan ang mas malaking isyu sa West Philippine Sea.
Sa ngayon aniya ay patuloy pa rin ang iligal na presensya ng Chinese Vessels sa West Philippine Sea, gaya ng People’s Liberation Army Navy, Chinese Coast Guard, at Maritime Militia.
Tiniyak naman ni Trinidad na hindi magpapaapekto ang militar sa political discourse at patuloy na po-protektahan ang soberanya ng bansa, integridad ng teritoryo, at kapakanan ng mga Filipino. Kris Jose
