MANILA, Philippiens – Bubuksan ang direct flights sa pagitan ng Fujian, China at Cebu sa susunod na buwan, ayon kay Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Jing Quan nitong Biyernes, Pebrero 13.
“China has decided that we will open direct flights between Fujian and Cebu on March 29th. That will be the first of flights… If there are more tourists coming, we will increase,” sinabi ni Jing kasabay ng paglulunsad ng Chinatown Revitalization Phase II sa Hotel Lucky Chinatown in Binondo, Manila.
“Because more Chinese tourists are also coming back to Manila, we already agreed to add two more direct flights between Manila and Fujian,” dagdag pa niya.
Malugod na tinanggap naman ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang desisyon ng China.
“And I hope that it will be the beginning of more interactions and people-to-people exchange between China and the Philippines,” ani Marcos.
Sa pahayag, sinabi rin ni Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. board member at public information committee chairman Wilson Lee Flores, na ito ay “good news for tourism in the Philippines.”
“Hopefully we can enhance efficiency, facilities, security, and all other aspects needed to ensure better tourism,” dagdag pa niya.
Sa ngayon ay maaaring manatili ng hanggang 14 na araw ang Chinese nationals sa Pilipinas nang walang visa kung sila ay bibiyahe para sa tourism o business purposes.
Ang visa-free privilege ay maaari lamang sa pagpasok sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport sa Metro Manila at Mactan-Cebu International Airport sa Cebu. RNT/JGC
