Manila, Philippines – Sama-samang kinundena ng ilang grupo sa showbiz industry ang naging komento ni Quezon City Fourth District Representative Jesus “Bong” Suntay patungkol kay Anne Curtis.
Ang nasabing pahayag ni Suntay ay nangyari sa congressional hearing nitong March 3.
Ang pagkundena ay hindi lang mula sa ilang female showbiz personalities at kay mismong QC Mayor Joy Belmonte kundi sa mga grupo tulad ng Aktor sa pamumuno ni Iza Calzado, DGPI at FAP.
Bahagi ng stand ng Aktor–kung saan si Dingdong Dantes ang chairman–“As the country observes National Women’s Month, this incident highlights the continuing need for gender sensitivity, respect and accountability in our public spaces.
“Aktor stands firmly against misogyny in all forms and will always defend the dignity and respect of our members.”
Nag-release din ng opisyal na pahayag ang Directors Guild of the Philippines (DGPI).
Part of its statement reads: “We hold all our public officials accountable for their conduct during their terms of office and demand that the dignity of all people be defended.
“The blatant sexism on display should not be tolerated at any level of government.”
Naglabas naman ng art card ang Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP) na ang mensahe ay: “Ang babae ay nirerespeto–kahit sa imahinasyon.”
Humingi na ng paumanhin si Suntay sa kabila ng aniya’y kawalan ng malisya sa tinuran niya tungkol kay Anne Curtis.
Pero giit ng mas nakakarami, hindi sapat ang public apology ni Suntay na kailangang harapin ang mga posibleng sanction bunga ng kanyang pananalita. Ronnie Carrasco III
