MANILA, Philippines – Maaaring umabot o lumampas sa 6 porsiyento ang inflation sa Pilipinas nitong Abril dahil sa pagtaas ng presyo ng enerhiya na may kaugnayan sa tensyon sa Middle East, ayon sa Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
Sa pahayag ng BSP, tinatayang tumaas ang presyo ng mga bilihin sa pagitan ng 5.6 porsiyento at 6.4 porsiyento kumpara sa nakaraang taon.
“Inflation risks have intensified amid upward price pressures from significantly higher domestic petroleum prices, rising prices of key food items such as rice, fish, and meat, increased electricity charges, and the peso depreciation,” ayon sa central bank.
Dagdag pa nito, maaaring makatulong ang inaasahang pagbaba ng presyo ng gulay at prutas upang bahagyang mapabagal ang inflation.
“The anticipated decline in vegetable and fruit prices may help temper inflation, but sources of upside price pressures continue to warrant close monitoring,” dagdag ng BSP. RNT/MND
