MANILA, Philippines – Inaasahang magpipiyansa ngayong araw, Mayo 8, si Peanut Gallery Media Network (PGMN) founder Franco Mabanta at apat iba pa na naaresto sa tangkang pangingikil kay dating House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Dinala si Mabanta at apat na kasama nito Huwebes ng gabi sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) detention facility sa loob ng New Bilibid Prison compound sa Muntinlupa.
Ayon sa abogado ni Mabanta na si Atty. Bernice Piñol-Rodriguez, nakatakdang magpiyansa ang grupo ngayong araw.
Tumanggi namang magbigay ng pahayag ang kampo ni Mabanta sa kumakalat na video sa social media na nagpapakita ng usapan sa pagitan ng NBI agent.
“No statement to be had. It will be part of our defense. But again, I would like to reiterate that there was no extortion, there was no crime that was committed. We will file the necessary pleadings in the morning. and hopefully this will all be over soon,” ani Rodriguez.
“They’re very good, they’re just really tired. We just helped them settle in because ang daming gamit that had to be moved. But they’re okay,” dagdag pa niya. RNT/JGC
