MANILA, Philippines — Humigit-kumulang 20,000 pulis ang ikinalat para sa State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa Lunes, Hulyo 27, ayon kay Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla nitong Miyerkules.
“Yes, we are ready. In fact, command conference namin tungkol dito ngayon. We have 20,000 police now deployed, and we are ready for any contingencies,” pahayag ni Remulla.
Isasailalim naman sa full alert status ang Philippine National Police-National Capital Region Police Office (PNP-NCRPO) simula alas-5 ng hapon sa Biyernes, Hulyo 24.
Sa kabila ng heightened alert, tuloy pa rin ang regular na anti-crime operations at visible police patrols.
Hinigpitan din ang seguridad sa mga pangunahing lugar ng kilos-protesta, kabilang ang Batasang Pambansa, People Power Monument, Malacañang, Liwasang Bonifacio, Senado sa Pasay City at US Embassy.
Nauna nang naglabas ang Metropolitan Manila Development Authority ng mga alternatibong ruta dahil sa inaasahang mabigat na trapiko sa Commonwealth Avenue, IBP Road at iba pang pangunahing kalsada malapit sa House of Representatives. Santi Celario
