WITH his keen intellect, broad vision for the welfare of the people he serves, and the evident prosperity the city now enjoys under his leadership, I firmly believe that he’s the man, the one the provincial government truly needs.
But then we can’t just force Sto. Tomas City Mayor Arth Jhun Aguilar Marasigan as to what he’d do in the near future as he appears to be so determined to continuously transform the premier Batangas city to be the most progressive and competitive locality all over the country.
It’s not far-fetched, his performance record wouldn’t lie.
A lawyer, Marasigan in his 5th State-of-the-City Address revealed that it now has 5,600 registered businesses which is 12% higher compared to 5,000 in 2025.
For locally sourced income, the city is expecting 7.3% increase in revenue collection for 2026 amounting to P968-million.
Moreover, Sto. Tomas has maintained a 10.5% yearly average economic growth since he first assumed office in 2022.
Philippine Statistics Authority’s records would indicate this growth rate is almost double than the Calabarzon record of 5.6% and much higher than the 6.7 percent growth rate of the provincial government!
Strategically positioned as the open frontier and gateway to the south, the City of Sto. Tomas stands at the threshold of immense economic promise.
Marasigan acknowledges, however, that translating this potential into tangible benefits for the Tomasino people demands more than just policy—it requires a genuine blend of compassion and relentless hard work.
True to his guiding mantra—“Aksyon Bilis na Serbisyo na may Ngiting Tomasino” (Fast Action with a Smile)— Marasigan’s leadership has steadily gained traction over time, delivering the kind of responsive and heartfelt public service that Tomasinos have long desired.
Looking ahead, he unveiled several key priority projects including the establishment of a child-minding station for solo parents, a wellness hub to address mental health concerns, expansion of social hygiene clinics, digitalization of government services, and additional livelihood programs aimed at supporting small businesses.
That’s truly amazing. This is a significant achievement that would serve as an inspiration to others like him. May your tribe multiply Mayor Arth!
