MANILA, Philippines- Inihayag ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) na mayroong “significant number” ng franchise consolidation applicants bago matapos ang year-end deadline, taliwas sa pahayag ng ilang grupo na nanatiling mababa ang compliance rate sa Metro Manila.
Sinabi ng DOTr nitong Martes na ang resolusyon mula sa Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) “allowed applicants to beat the deadline even if payment of pertinent fees have not been made.”
“Today, January 2, 2024, the first working day after the deadline, LTFRB is calling those applicants to settle the fees so they can be included in the final consolidation report,” anang departamento.
Inihayag pa ng ahensya na maaari pang pumasada nag unconsolidated public utility vehicle (PUV) operators hanggang Jan. 31, at sinabing nakatakdang maglabas ng resolusyon ang LTFRB “to give effect to this instruction.”
Itinuturing na wala nang bisa ang permits ng unconsolidated operators mula nitong Jan. 1 subalit maaari pa ring bumiyahe ang mga ito sa mga piling ruta hanggang Jan. 31, base sa LTFRB memorandum circulars na inilabas nitong Disyembre. RNT/SA
