MANILA, Philippines – Ipinag-utos ng korte sa Pasig ang pag-iinspeksyon sa anim na ari-arian, kabilang ang dalawa sa Metro Manila na pagmamay-ari ng Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), ng televangelist at umano’y sex offender na si Apollo Quiboloy.
Sa siyam na pahinang kautusan nitong Biyernes kaugnay sa human trafficking case ni Quiboloy, pinayagan ni Acting Presiding Judge Redentor Cardenas ng Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC)-Branch 159 ang mosyon ng prosekusyon ng ocular inspection ng KOJC congregation building sa Barangay Rosario, Pasig City, KOJC compound sa Barangay Sauyo, Quezon City, at 30-hectare compound sa Davao City, at ang tatlong gusali sa naturang compound.
Ito ay upang matulungan umano ang korte na makakuha ng “a clearer and more accurate understanding of the[se] locations where the alleged offenses of qualified trafficking for purposes of sexual exploitation and labor trafficking were purportedly committed,” saad sa kautusan.
“Thus, to verify their accuracy and dismiss the ambiguity, the court finds it necessary to personally observe the premises,” dagdag pa.
Sinabi rin ng korte na ang ari-arian ng KOJC sa Philippine-Japan Friendship Highway sa Davao City ay may dormitoryo na tinukoy bilang recruitment center ng mga “miracle workers” ng sekta katulad ng ari-arian ng mga ito sa Quezon City at Pasig.
Ang Davao property ng KOJC ay kung saan din matatagpuan ang Jose Maria College, kung saan nagtago si Quiboloy sa dalawang linggong standoff sa pulisya bago ito sumuko noong Setyembre 8, 2024.
Mayroong Bible school ang naturang ari-arian kung saan umano inaabuso ang mga miracle worker.
Bilang pagtutol sa ocular inspection, iginiit ni Quiboloy na ito ay nagsisilbing “fishing expedition that could prejudice nonparties and violate third-party rights, including religious freedom and institutional autonomy.”
Inilarawan din niya ang mosyon ng prosekusyon bilang “belated attempt to compensate for [its] failure to establish facts during witness examination and improperly invoke the court’s inherent powers to bypass procedural constitutional safeguards.”
Sa kabila nito, iginiit ng korte ng Pasig na ang ocular inspections ay “proper if the court finds it necessary, but such is authorized only to help the court in clearing a doubt, reaching a conclusion, or finding the truth.”
“But it is not the main trial nor should it exclude the presentation of other evidence which the parties may deem necessary to establish their case. It is merely an auxiliary remedy the law affords the parties or the court to reach an enlightened determination,” sinabi pa ng korte.
Si Quiboloy ay wanted din sa Estados Unidos para sa “conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion,” at “sex trafficking of children,” at iba pang kaso. RNT/JGC
