MANILA, Philippines – Nagpahayag ng suporta si Sen. Risa Hontiveros nitong Huwebes para sa Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), Department of Health (DOH) at Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) sa kanilang pagsisikap na i-streamline ang mga serbisyo sa pangangalagang pangkalusugan at palakasin ang pagpapatupad ng Zero Balance Billing policy.
Sa kanyang mensahe sa 2025 Health Forum na ginanap sa Marco Polo Ortigas, pinuri ni Hontiveros ang mga ahensya para sa pagsusulong ng mga karapatan ng pasyente at pagpapabuti ng koordinasyon upang matiyak ang mahusay at accessible na pangangalagang pangkalusugan para sa lahat ng Pilipino.
“I thank the ARTA — and of course, DOH and PhilHealth — for leading this important discussion on an effective and pro-people implementation of the Zero Balance Billing policy, and other components of a healthcare system that is truly for all,” aniya.
Sinabi ni Hontiveros, na namumuno sa Senate Committee on Health at co-authored ng Universal Health Care Act, na ang mga ahensya ng gobyerno ay dapat magtulungan upang alisin ang out-of-pocket na gastos para sa mga pasyente habang pinapabuti ang paghahatid ng serbisyo.
“Bureaucratic roadblocks and bottlenecks must be identified and addressed. Repetitive or unnecessary requirements must be removed. Long waiting lines must be shortened,” dagdag niya.
Ang 2025 Health Forum, na may temang “Zero Balance Full Care: Advancing Patient Rights through Streamlined Health Services,” ay nagtipon ng mga opisyal mula sa ARTA, DOH at PhilHealth upang isulong ang pagsunod sa Universal Health Care Act at bumuo ng isang transparent, patient-centered healthcare system.
