MANILA, Philippines- Magsisilbing host ang Pilipinas sa idaraos na ASEAN Regional Correctional Conference (ARCC) na magaganap sa Puerto Princesa, Palawan itong Feb. 14 hanggang 17.
Magsasama-sama ang lahat ng pinuno ng ASEAN prison services sa naturang event upang talakayin ang mga hamon at best practices.
Sinabi ng Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) na katuwang nila ang Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) sa pag-host ng komperensya na may tema na “Shaping the Future of Corrections Together.”
“The ARCC provides a valuable venue to address the emerging challenges of prison overcrowding and lack of resources faced by participating countries and to learn from one another while discussing efforts and solutions for the enhancement of quality correctional services,” ani BuCor Director General Gregorio Catapang Jr.
Ito ang unang pagkakataon na magsisilbing host ang Bucor ng isang international conference.
Dadalo sa conference ang mga lider ng prison services mula Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia at Timor-Leste. Teresa Tavares
