MANILA, Philippines- Nakalusot ang isang babaeng driver na sinita dahil sa ilegal na pagdaan sa Carousel Bus Lane sa Makati City nitong Huwebes matapos banggitin ang umano’y koneksyon nito sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Sakay ang hindi tinukoy na driver ng itim na Toyota Fortuner SUV nang masita bandang alas-6:35 ng hapon sa south bound lane ng Guadalupe Carousel Station ng mga tauhan ng Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) ng Department of Transportation (DOTr), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) at Philippine National Police – Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG).
Ayon sa SAICT, tinatayang nasa pagitan ng 40 at 43-anyos ang driver. Iniulat siya sa Metrobase dahil sa mabilis na pagpapatakbo ng sasakyan sa exclusive bus lane habang patungo sa Guadalupe mula Ortigas, dagdag nito.
Ipinost ng SAICT ang 4:06-minutong video ng insidente sa Facebook.
Sa video, maririnig na hinihingi ng sumitang tauhan na ipakita ng driver ang lisensya nito, subalit tumugon ang babae na pamangkin siya ng isang heneral: “So ‘wag mo akong aanuhin. I’m a military. I’m from Armed Forces of the Philippines.”
Sinabi ng driver na konektado ito sa Intelligence Service of the AFP (ISAFP). Kalahok din umano siya sa darating na Balikatan Exercises sa pagitan ng AFP at United States military.
Kinilala naman ng sumitang operatiba ang driver subalit ipinagbigay-alam sa kanyang hindi pinapayagang dumaan sa Carousel Bus Lane ang mga pribadong sasakyan.
Nang hiningi na ng tauhan ang lisensya ng nasitang driver ay tumugon ito: “Ayoko, hindi ko ibibigay. That’s why next time hindi na ako dadaan dito.”
Dahil dito, wala nang nagawa ang operatiba kundi ibalik ang mga dokumento at identification cards ng lady driver, na tila sumaludo pa bago siya umalis.
Ayon sa DOTr-SAICT, humingi na ng show cause order mula sa Land Transportation Office (LTO).
“The authorities are committed to ensuring that all road users adhere to traffic rules, regardless of their affiliations or status. This incident underscores the necessity for all drivers to comply with traffic regulations and cooperate with law enforcement officers,” anito.
Samantala, sinabi ni Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla, AFP spokesperson, na hindi pa nakikipag-ugnayan ang DOTr-SAICT sa kaukulang AFP office hinggil sa isyu upang matukoy ang violator.
Gayunman, sinabi ni Padilla na ang AFP “does not condone nor tolerate any behavior that undermines the integrity of our institution or violates the law.”
“We take allegations of misconduct and misrepresentation seriously within our ranks,” giit ng opisyal.
“Whether or not she is a member of the military, she should be accountable for the violations she committed,” patuloy ng AFP spokesperson. RNT/SA
